Curated by pianist and composer Antonio Ciacca, the live music series Italian Jazz Days showcases the rich heritage of jazz in Italy by presenting Italian and American jazz artists in collaboration at venues throughout New York City from October 1 through October 9, 2011. Originating with the Italian Cultural Institute and produced by TwinsMusic Enterprises, Italian Jazz Days enters its third year of celebrating Italy’s jazz heritage in a series of exciting events at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, the Setai Fifth Avenue Hotel, and Smalls Jazz Club. In addition to Ciacca, featured artists this year include such jazz luminaries as Joe Magnarelli, John Patitucci, and George Garzone.
